Background | Ubiquitin specific peptidase 14 (USP14) belongs to the ubiquitin-specific processing (UBP) family of proteases, and inhibits the degradation of ubiquitinated proteins as a proteasome-associated deubiquitinating enzyme (1). Altered expression of USP14 affects the chemotactic cell migration via CXCL12 mediated degradation of CXCR4 (2). USP14 is highly expressed in multiple myeloma (MM) cells than in its normal origin and the inhibition of USP14 can decrease the proliferation and the cell viability in MM (3). |
