Product Overview
| Description | Recombinant Human Gamma-Synuclein is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Met1-Asp127 is expressed. |
| Accession | O76070 |
| Synonym | Gamma-Synuclein; Breast Cancer-Specific Gene 1 Protein; Persyn; Synoretin; SR; SNCG; BCSG1; PERSYN; PRSN |
| Gene Background | Gamma-Synuclein (SNCG) is a member of the Synuclein protein family. Gamma-Synuclein is mostly expressed in the peripheral nervous system and retina. Gamma-Synuclein plays a role in neurofilament network integrity and may be involved in modulating axonal architecture during development and in the adult. In addition, it may also function in modulating the keratin network in skin. SNCG expression in breast tumors has been as a marker for tumor progression. SNCG is also believed to be involved in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases. |
| Molecular Mass | 13.6 KDa |
| Apmol Mass | 16-18 KDa, reducing conditions |
| Formulation | Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4. |
| Endotoxin | Less than 0.1 ng/µg (1 EU/µg) as determined by LAL test. |
| Purity | Greater than 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE. (QC verified) |
| Biological Activity | Not tested |
| Reconstitution | Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100μg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles. |
| Storage | Lyophilized protein should be stored at ≤ -20°C, stable for one year after receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at ≤ -20°C for 3 months. |
| Shipping | The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature listed below. |

Target Details
| Target Function | Plays a role in neurofilament network integrity. May be involved in modulating axonal architecture during development and in the adult. In vitro, increases the susceptibility of neurofilament-H to calcium-dependent proteases. May also function in modulating the keratin network in skin. Activates the MAPK and Elk-1 signal transduction pathway. |
| Subcellular Location | Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, centrosome. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, spindle. Note=Associated with centrosomes in several interphase cells. In mitotic cells, localized to the poles of the spindle. |
| Protein Families | Synuclein family |
