Research Area | Cell Biology |
Form | Liquid or Lyophilized powder |
Buffer | Liquid form: default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. Lyophilized powder form: the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0. |
Reconstitution | Briefly centrifuged the vial prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. It is recommended to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. The default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. |
Storage | 1. Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. 2. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. 3. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week. 4. In general, protein in liquid form is stable for up to 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. Protein in lyophilized powder form is stable for up to 12 months at -20°C/-80°C. |
Notes | Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week. |
Target Details
Target Function | Component of the LUBAC complex which conjugates linear polyubiquitin chains in a head-to-tail manner to substrates and plays a key role in NF-kappa-B activation and regulation of inflammation. LUBAC conjugates linear polyubiquitin to IKBKG and RIPK1 and is involved in activation of the canonical NF-kappa-B and the JNK signaling pathways. Linear ubiquitination mediated by the LUBAC complex interferes with TNF-induced cell death and thereby prevents inflammation. LUBAC is recruited to the TNF-R1 signaling complex (TNF-RSC) following polyubiquitination of TNF-RSC components by BIRC2 and/or BIRC3 and to conjugate linear polyubiquitin to IKBKG and possibly other components contributing to the stability of the complex. Together with OTULIN, the LUBAC complex regulates the canonical Wnt signaling during angiogenesis. |
Subcellular Location | Cytoplasm. Cell junction, synapse. |

Tissue Specificity | Expressed in brain, spleen, lung, heart, skeletal muscle, kidney and testis (at protein level). Expressed in heart and testis. |
Gene Functions References
- The upregulation of Shank-interacting protein-like 1 (SIPL1) in the fundus of W/WV mice, and expression in the upper gastrointestinal tract suggest that the SIPL1 gene could be associated with interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) function in mice and humans. PMID: 12753155
