Storage Condition | 1. Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. 2. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. 3. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week. 4. In general, protein in liquid form is stable for up to 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. Protein in lyophilized powder form is stable for up to 12 months at -20°C/-80°C. |
Reconstitution Instruction | Briefly centrifuged the vial prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. It is recommended to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. The default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. |
Applications | Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; WB |
Research Area | Others |
Target Function | Flavoenzyme which catalyzes the oxidation of spermine to spermidine. Can also use N(1)-acetylspermine and spermidine as substrates, with different affinity depending on the isoform (isozyme) and on the experimental conditions. Plays an important role in the regulation of polyamine intracellular concentration and has the potential to act as a determinant of cellular sensitivity to the antitumor polyamine analogs. May contribute to beta-alanine production via aldehyde dehydrogenase conversion of 3-amino-propanal. |
Subcellular Location | Cytoplasm.; [Isoform 2]: Cytoplasm. Nucleus. |
Protein Family | Flavin monoamine oxidase family |
Tissue Specificity | Widely expressed. Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are expressed at higher level in brain and skeletal muscle. Isoform 7 is found in brain and spleen, isoform 10 is widely expressed but found at lower level in heart, kidney, liver and lung. |
