Product Overview
| Description | Native Human Cathepsin B is a lysosomal cysteine protease belonging to the papain family. It is a multifunctional enzyme with a unique ability to act as both an endoprotease (cleaving internal peptide bonds) and an exopeptidase (cleaving dipeptides from the C-terminus of proteins). This dual activity, combined with its frequent overexpression in disease states, makes it one of the most studied and clinically significant proteases in the cathepsin family. |
