Background Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-3, also known as HER3 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 3), is a membrane bound protein that in humans is encoded by the ERBB3 gene.ErbB3 is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR/ERBB) family of receptor tyrosine kinases. The kinase-impaired ErbB3 is known to form active heterodimers with other members of the ErbB family, most notably the ligand binding-impaired ErbB2.ERBB3 (Erb-B2 Receptor Tyrosine Kinase 3) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with ERBB3 include Lethal Congenital Contracture Syndrome 2 and Erythroleukemia, Familial. Among its related pathways are PI3K/AKT activation and RET signaling. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include protein homodimerization activity and transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups. An important paralog of this gene is ERBB4.
Description A DNA sequence encoding the rat ERBB3 (Met1-His641) was expressed, fused with a His tag at the C-terminus.
Source HEK293
Predicted N Terminal Ser 20
AA Sequence Met1-His641
Molecular Weight The recombinant rat ERBB3 comprises 633 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 69.9 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the recombinant protein is approximately 112 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.
Purity >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Endotoxin < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
Bioactivity Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized rat ERBB3-His at 10 ug/ml (100 ul/well) can bind biotinylated human NRG1, The EC50 of biotinylated human NRG1 is 1.1-2.6 ug/ml.
Formulation Recombinant Rat HER3 / ERBB3 Protein (His Tag) was lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4
Stability Recombinant Rat HER3 / ERBB3 protein is stable up to 1 year at -70°C
Usage For Research Use Only
Storage Store the protein under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
