Product Overview
Tag | His |
Host Species | Rat |
Accession | AAQ77349.1 |
Synonym | ERBB4, ALS19, HER4, p180erbB4, erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 4 |
Background | Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-4 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ERBB4 gene. Alternatively spliced variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described; however, not all variants have been fully characterized. Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-4 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family. ERBB4 is a single-pass type I transmembrane protein with multiple furin-like cysteine rich domains, a tyrosine kinase domain, a phosphotidylinositol-3 kinase binding site and a PDZ domain binding motif. The protein binds to and is activated by neuregulins-2 and -3, heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor and betacellulin. Ligand binding induces a variety of cellular responses including mitogenesis and differentiation. Multiple proteolytic events allow for the release of a cytoplasmic fragment and an extracellular fragment. |
Description | A DNA sequence encoding the rat ERBB4 (Met1-Pro651) was expressed with a His tag at the C-terminus. |
Source | HEK293 |
Predicted N Terminal | Gln 26 |
AA Sequence | Met1-Pro651 |
Molecular Weight | The recombinant rat ERBB4 comprises 637 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 71.3 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the recombinant protein is approximately 75-95 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation. |
Purity | >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE |
Endotoxin | < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method |
Bioactivity | Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized rat ERBB4-His at 10 ug/ml (100 ul/well) can bind biotinylated human NRG1, The EC50 of biotinylated human NRG1 is 0.68-1.6 ug/ml. |
Formulation | Recombinant Rat ErbB4 Protein (His Tag) was lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4. |
Stability | Recombinant Rat ErbB4 protein is stable up to 1 year at -70°C |
Usage | For Research Use Only |
Storage | Store the protein under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
