Background PDCD1 is a cell surface membrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. PDCD1 is expressed in pro-B-cells and is thought to have a role in their differentiation. In mice, expression of PDCD1 gene is induced in the thymus when anti-CD3 antibodies are injected and large numbers of thymocytes undergo apoptosis. Mice deficient for the PDCD1 gene bred on a BALB/c background developed dilated cardiomyopathy and died from congestive heart failure. These studies suggest that the PDCD1 gene product may also be important in T cell function and contribute to the prevention of autoimmune diseases.
Description PDCD1 Human Recombinant expressed in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 392a.a. (21-170a.a.) and having a molecular weight of 44.0kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 40-57kDa).PDCD1 is expressed with a 239a.a. hIgG-His tag at C-Terminus and purified by unique purification methods.
