Host Species Human
Accession Q9NPF2
Synonym C4ST, C4ST-1, C4ST1, HSA269537
Background CHST11, also known as C4ST-1, belongs to the sulfotransferase 2 family. CHST11 localizes to the golgi membrane, and catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residue of chondroitin. Chondroitin sulfate constitutes the predominant proteoglycan present in cartilage, and is distributed on the surfaces of many cells and extracellular matrices. A chromosomal translocation involving CHST11 gene and IgH, t(12;14)(q23;q32), has been reported in a patient with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Description A DNA sequence encoding the human CHST11 (Q9NPF2-2) (Met36-Glu347) was expressed with a C-terminal His tag.
Source Baculovirus-Insect Cells
Predicted N Terminal Met 36
AA Sequence Met36-Glu347
Molecular Weight The secreted recombinant human CHST11 consists of 323 a.a. and predicts a molecular mass of 38.4 KDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 43 KDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
